northern lights over Kalmar in southern Sweden

I still can’t believe I got this lucky. I live in Southern Sweden and normally, we don’t see the Northern Lights this far in the south. But sometimes the conditions are just right, and I had to go! I drove 1.5 hours in the middle of the night to get to this location where I have a clear view of the horizon. And it was worth it. I can’t believe I was doubting of going there. And I’m so glad I convinced myself otherwise. Something in me just told me I had to go. So, I went.

I didn’t take into consideration how hard it can be to find a composition in complete darkness. Luckily, I had my headlamp with me which made it a little easier for me. The moon shone bright, and the stars sparkled. Is it perfect? No. Does it need to be perfect? Also, no. I’m so happy with the results and it’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about something. I’m happy and excited and this is what I see in this picture. And I hope you do, too.

Thanks for viewing,
Sarah
